Pokemon Go Premier Cup and Master League rollout in latest PvP update

As confirmed in an earlier schedule, the Pokemon Go Premier Cup starts today and will run over the next few weeks.

Gamers are starting to report the release of the Pokemon Go Premier Cup today, alongside the Master League’s return.

The main difference between the two Pokemon PvP event is that the Premier Cup removes the use of legendaries.

Niantic has confirmed that Season 3 of the Go Battle League is set for late July and they have also revealed how long Trainers can enjoy the Premier Cup.

According to the latest news from Niantic, The Pokemon Go Premier Cup kicks off today at 9pm GMT and runs until July 20, 2020.

The end time has been set for 9pm GMT in the UK on Android and iOS, meaning gamers should have enough time to rise through the ranks.

However, it should be noted that the Premier Cup will be available again alongside all three leagues from Monday, July 20, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, July 27, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).

GO Battle League seasons are periods of time after which ranks and ratings are reset, and typically, each season of GO Battle League will progress through Great, Ultra and Master League battles, with only one league available at a time.

All Trainers who participate in GO Battle League will receive end-of-season rewards. You can see when the current season will end under the “Current Season” section of the Battle screen.

Trainers who Participate in GO Battle League are assigned a rank, a measure of how many matches you’ve played and/or how many matches you’ve won.

Once you attain a new rank, you cannot drop below it for the rest of the season. Ending a season with a higher rank results in better end-of-season rewards.

For Season 2, the following will be the same as during Season 1:

  • The walking and PokéCoin requirements to unlock sets of battles in the GO Battle League will still be removed. If you’re currently in the middle of walking to earn a set, this will take effect starting with your next set.
  • The avatar items inspired by Pikachu Libre will continue to be rank 7 rewards.
  • Metagross and Pikachu Libre will continue to be guaranteed reward encounters when you reach rank 1 and rank 10 respectively.
  • The avatar items inspired by Steven Stone, a Pokémon League Champion of the Hoenn region, will continue to be rank 10 rewards.

Niantic has also confirmed that these changes have been made for Season 2 of the GO Battle League and Trainer Battles:

Trainers can now earn a Pokémon reward encounter after your third win on the basic rewards track or after your first win on the premium rewards track.

The ranking system has been adjusted. More wins are now required to get to ranks 4, 5, 6, and 7.

Some of your guaranteed reward encounters will be different for Season 2. You’ll encounter these Pokémon at each listed rank:

  • Stunfisk starting at rank 4
  • Rufflet starting at rank 8
  • Scraggy starting at rank 9.
  • If you reach rank 10, you’ll earn a new avatar pose.

Trainers who finish Season 2 at rank 7 or higher will receive an Elite Fast TM rather than an Elite Charged TM. Other than that, end-of-season rewards will stay the same as in Season 1.

FIFA 20 down: EA server status latest as maintenance begins

While outages have grown more frequent from leading online games in recent months, today’s FIFA 20 server outage is part of planned maintenance schedule.

EA servers are currently offline for FIFA 20 gamers, and downtime is expected to continue over the coming hours.

According to the latest news on the subject, FIFA 20 servers will only be down for a total of four hours today, July 1, 2020.

This will affect FIFA 20 Ultimate Team, which will be unplayable during the current maintenance period across all platforms.

The good news is that FIFA downtime is only expected to last until 11am BST, meaning at least another three hours of maintenance.

This outage in Ultimate Team and other core online services is set to affect both FIFA 20 and FIFA 19 games on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

A message from the EA Sports support team explains: “We have scheduled maintenance coming up on July 1st, from 7 AM to 11 AM BST. FUT match creation will be disabled 30 minutes prior to maintenance.

“During this time, you may be disconnected or unable to connect to EA servers on all platforms. Impacted titles: FIFA 19 and 20.”

EA Sports has not explained what is being done during the maintenance but a new update was recently released for the AAA game.

This has yet to arrive on consoles but the PC patch notes confirm the following changes:

FUT:

Made the following change:

  • Added the Special Quality Filter, a new feature that will be activated through a server release at a later date and time, and this activation will be announced on the @EAFIFADIRECT Twitter account.
  • The Special Quality Filter enables players to search for the exact Player Item rarity.
  • The Special Quality Filter is available in the Transfer Market, and in the Club tab of the Squad screen.
  • The Special Quality Filter can be accessed by hovering over the Quality tile when performing a search, followed by pressing your controller’s confirmation button.
  • Known Issue: The Special Quality Filter incorrectly displays an option to search for Silver FUT Champions Items, an Item rarity that is not present in-game.

Addressed the following issue:

  • When selecting one of the first 7 Player Items in the search results, the Compare Price function on the Transfer Market was only displaying 1 page of Player Items.

Minecraft Dungeons update today before Jungle Awakens DLC release date

A big Minecraft Dungeons update has arrived today and it appears that some players may have gotten early access to new content. Developers Mojang confirmed last week that they would be adding new content on July 1 through the new Jungle Awakens DLC. They also confirmed that a free Minecraft Dungeons update would also be going live, bringing the Lower Temple dungeon, some new items, and a few game balancing changes.

Some players are reporting they have access to this new Minecraft update, along with new content today.

However, others are reporting only receiving the update, without any other changes noted.

“When I click it (Ender Pearl), it takes me to another map,” one Minecraft gamer reports.

“This new map has two DLCs, the Winter one and the Jungle one. The Winter one is still not out yet. But Jungle Awakens is playable for me. I’m on PC.”

Another adds: “I mean I am already playing it and it’s out. Update your game and it’ll show you news on the main screen saying the DLC is available to play.”

It’s unclear if this is some kind of glitch or part of Mojang’s plans to launch the latest free and paid content into Minecraft Dungeons.

The official Minecraft Dungeons Jungle Awakens DLC release date has been set for Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

But anyone who has been waiting for the new Minecraft Dungeons expansion may want to check and see if anything has changed on their chosen platform.

Everyone who owns the game will get access to the Lost Temple Dungeon, while those who own the Hero Editions, or Pass, will get automatic access to the new DLC content.

A message from Mojang adds: “For those of you who already bought the Hero Edition, all of this is included! Don’t worry, you can always upgrade your standard game with the Hero Pass.

“Jungle Awakens will be released on July 1, so get ready to battle new mobs such as the Leapleaf and Whisperer before ultimately saving the day by defeating the Jungle Abomination.”

And commenting on the free update, Mojang provided an early teaser, telling fans this week:

“One thing they did add was more shrubbery, vines, and humidity. Foliage as far as the eye can see.

“Oh, and a bunch of new weapons, armors, artifacts, and mobs. And three new story missions! Aaaand a free update, which includes the Lost Temple dungeon, some new items, and a few game balancing changes. Phew! I’m out of breath and I haven’t even gotten to the pandas yet.”

According to Microsoft, there are two DLC expansions planned for Minecraft Dungeons, following the game’s successful release earlier this year.

Minecraft Dungeons is also playable through the Xbox Game Pass, which provides a library of games that you can download and play.

Unlike Project xCloud, which is a new streaming service in beta, the Xbox Game Pass allows you to install the titles you want, rather than having to use a constant internet connection.

Minecraft Dungeons DLC release date confirmed with Jungle Awakens news

Microsoft and developers Mojang have revealed its plans for the first Minecraft Dungeons release coming to all platforms. But even if you aren’t planning to snap up the new content, the development team has also confirmed that a new Dungeon is being released as part of a free update. From what has been shared so far, the next major Minecraft Dungeons update will be a big one, adding new locations, weapons and mobs to the game. The free update will add the Lost Temple dungeon and new items to the game, while the Minecraft Jungle Awakens paid-DLC will offer weapons, armour and new story missions.

WHAT IS THE MINECRAFT DUNGEONS DLC RELEASE DATE?

According to Mojang, the new Minecraft Dungeons DLC release date for Jungle Awakens has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 1.

That means gamers have less than a week to wait until the new content arrives on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Everyone who owns the game will get access to the Lost Temple Dungeon, while those who own the Hero Editions of the game will get automatic access to the new DLC content.

Next week’s Dungeons is also expected to bring a number of other changes separate from new content.

Mojang has been busy patching the game throughout June and this isn’t expected to stop in July.

Next week’s free update will come with more fixes and balance changes to help to keep the game fun for everyone to play.

And you can expect with such a large content update there could be few more bugs needing to be squashed in the weeks to come.

PS Plus July 2020 free games lineup could be a unique one for PlayStation, here’s why

First introduced on the PlayStation 3, the official PS Plus July lineup could be treated a little differently due to it being the Tenth Anniversary of the subscription’s launch next week.

Sony hasn’t said anything about celebrating the milestone, but there is never much talk ahead of a PlayStation Plus reveal.

Fans aren’t so sure that anything big will be happening to commemorate the PlayStation Plus service, but there is always the hope that Sony could choose to do things in style.

We already had plenty of high-profile first-party games released for free as part of the membership scheme, and it would make for a cracking way to ring its tenth anniversary.

Titles like God of War and Days Gone could always be chosen, with plenty of other games to choose from.

  • Call of Duty Modern Warfare update: Patch Notes and COD Warzone news

While we don’t know if any extra free games or bonuses will be available in July to mark the milestone, we do know about a few other things planned.

PS Plus subscribers will be able to take advantage of a huge Sony and Rockstar giveaway on PS4.

Rockstar recently announced plans to bring an expanded version of GTA 5 to next-gen consoles in 2021.

The PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5 will feature improved visuals and performance, as well as some new content.

Meanwhile, to celebrate the announcement of GTA 5 on PlayStation 5, PS Plus subscribers will receive GTA$1,000,000 to spend in GTA Online.

Far from being a one-time only deal, PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive the same amount each month until the launch on GTA Online on PS5.

With GTA 5 launching in the second half of 2021, that’s potentially 18 months of free money for Grand Theft Auto fans.

The official announcement adds: “The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever,” the post reads.

“Additionally, all PlayStation Plus members on PlayStation 4 will get GTA$1,000,000 (deposited into their in-game Maze Bank account within 72 hours of log-in) each month they play GTA Online until the launch of GTA Online on PlayStation 5.”

The reveal of the next PS Plus free games lineup might take a little longer than usual, due to the way the dates fall and affect the PlayStation Store refresh.

The next batch of PlayStation Plus releases should be available to download on July 7, which means they won’t be revealed until July 1.

There’s a chance the dates could change, especially after Sony ripped up the script for the June 2020 reveal.

The best thing to do will be to keep an eye on Sony’s official PlayStation social media accounts heading into the final week of June.

Until the big switch happens, gamers can add Star Wars Battlefront 2 and Call of Duty WWII to their PSN accounts.

Red Dead Online and GTA 5 Online servers are down tonight, according to thousands of new reports.

Down detector sites are confirming an outage of Rockstar servers, which started within the last hour and appears to be affecting both games across multiple platforms.

It’s unclear what has caused the multiplayer problems with GTA Online and Red Dead Online, or how long it might last.

Players are speculating over what might be the cause, although it appears this outage is not worldwide.

“Servers are temporary Down right now, Rockstar might be experiencing a DDoS attack against their servers, it that why they haven’t acknowledged that their servers are down?” one user writes.

Another adds: “Restart your device then delete GTA 5. next: unplug your device and throw it out the window. problem solved.”

While this latest outage will prove frustrating for gamers stuck in the clouds, the good news is that there is no reason to believe this problem can’t be fixed quickly.
