Warzone chat is not working for Call of Duty gamers on Xbox One, here’s why

Call of Duty gamers are flagging problems with Warzone Chat services not working while in groups.

The problems started earlier yesterday evening and continue to be a problem in the early hours of July 3.

So what’s the problem with Call of Duty services tonight and how long might it last?

WARZONE CHAT IS AN XBOX LIVE ISSUE

From what has been shared online, most of tonight’s problems are connected to COD fans playing on Xbox One.

And if you are trying to connect with your friends tonight and can’t, it probably down to Xbox Live.

Microsoft has confirmed that Xbox Live services connected to Party and Chat features are not working properly.

The latest from the support team suggests that Microsoft engineers are looking into the issue.

The only problem is until that issue is fixed, you probably won’t be able to chat together on Xbox One.

The good news is that progress is being made, with the latest message from Microsoft explaining: “We are seeing indications that we are on the path to recovery with this feature, and we expect to be back up and running shortly.”

Until this issue is resolved, players will need to do their best using the Warzone Ping system.

Call of Duty Warzone patch notes 1.23 and Modern Warfare Data Pack DLC update

While today’s Call of Duty Warzone 1.23 update might not include all the improvement wanted by fans for COD Battle Royale, it does looks set to offer some much-wanted changes.

A big bonus from this week’s new patch is the 200-player Warzone mode, which will be available to play as soon as you have installed the chunky download.

Expect the new Modern Warfare update to require between 20GB and 40GB, which luckily won’t increase the install size by that much.

And while the June 30 update includes some eye-catching stuff – the Cheshire Park multiplayer map and new sniper rifle – it also includes some other much-needed tweaks.

This included the downgrading of the Grau, which has been reigning supreme across Verdransk these past few weeks.

Deadly when running into other players, and also very deadly from afar, the Grau has needed to be tamed for some time.

And today is the day things may change in Call of Duty Warzone across PS4, Xbox One and PC.

As confirmed in the official Call of Duty Warzone patch notes from developers Infinity Ward, the Grau’s damage range has been reduced while frequency recoil has also been increased.

It’s unclear if this will be enough to make things a little more varied on the ground but it’s a step in the right direction.

It will be up to gamers to playtest the changes this week and that means downloading the game’s new data pack.

Activision has warned that it will be a big one, telling fans this week: “Please note that the Season Four Reloaded update will have a download size of approximately 22-36 GB for owners of the full version of Modern Warfare.

“Console owners must install a secondary download of approximately 3.5GB, then reboot the game to access Multiplayer, if desired.

“A reminder, console players can choose also to uninstall/remove other data packs (e.g. Special Operations), if no longer needed for a smaller overall file size.

“Once the Season Four Reloaded update is fully completed, it should minimally increase the overall digital footprint of the full version of Modern Warfare.

“Existing free-to-play Warzone players will have a download size of approximately 22GB-30GB, once finished there will be a reduction to the overall footprint on their machines.”

Here’s how you can delete older data packs to make Modern Warfare small on your console:

  • 1. Launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
  • 2. When you reach the main menu, select Options.
  • 3. Navigate to the General tab.
  • 4. Scroll to the bottom and select Game Installs.
  • 5. Highlight any content you wish to uninstall.
  • 6. Select Uninstall, then select Confirm.

Full patch notes from today’s Call of Duty Warzone update can be found below:

  • Verdansk will now be able to hold up to 200 players. Jump into Battle Royale Quads with 200 players!

Supply Run Contracts

  • Upon activation, you and your squad (if applicable) will be directed to a nearby Buy Station. Reach it within the time limit to get a discount on Buy Station purchases.

Spotter Scope

  • Think of this as a high-powered scope without the glint; this re-usable scope allows you to scan the environment around you and mark enemies without being detected. Perfect for scouting ahead, the Spotter Scope is a great tool for Operators who want to plan their next move while keeping a low profile.

Fortnite downtime: Epic Games Fortnite servers shutting down for update 13.20

We’re just hours away from one of the first major Fortnite updates of Season 3 being released across PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Mobile and PC.

A new patch is launching today, June 30, that’s set to add “new flare” to the game, which sounds like a fresh piece of arsenal to try out on the map.

Epic Games has also confirmed they will be shutting down servers, meaning the game will be unplayable for a short period.

As mentioned above, this will be one of the first major updates since Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 began earlier this month.

For now, the map remains flooded in many areas, making for one of the biggest shake-ups since it replaced the old one.

Data miners believe that further changes are coming, with hints founds in the game files suggesting that water levels will eventually fall.

This would make for a neat way to show off new locations, however, it remains just a rumour for now.

If this does start happening, the first drop in water levels could happen today, following the release of Fortnite update 13.20.

The start of a new Season usually heralds some big changes, be it through new ways to travel across the map, or POI to explore.

A message from the beginning of Season 3 adds: “The Island has flooded, there are new areas to explore, Marauders to take on and… sharks to ride?

“Survive more than just the Storm. Adapt to the new flooded way of life on the Island.

“Watch your back! Defend yourself from new Marauders as they crash down onto the island and challenge your survival.”

So it will be interesting to see what has been planned for Fortnite Season 3.

The only downside with today’s update is that it means the game servers will be unavailable for several hours.

The good news is that we know what time Fortnite downtime will be starting, and they have also given a rough outline for how long it might last.

WHEN ARE FORTNITE SERVERS GOING DOWN?

According to Epic Games, Fortnite servers are scheduled to go offline on Tuesday, June 30, on PS4, Xbox, PC, Switch and Mobile.

This means that Battle Royale and Save the World modes will be unplayable for the duration.

Epic estimates downtime could last up to three hours, however, it’s more likely that everything will be completed much sooner.

Recent updates have only taken around an hour or two to deploy but it will all depend on how many fixes are included.

Epic Games has confirmed that Fortnite server downtime and maintenance will begin at 7am, GMT.

This means that Fortnite will be unavailable in the United States from 2am ET onward, for however long maintenance lasts.

An update will be shared on Twitter when Fortnite servers are going offline, and another will be posted for when they are back online.

The latest message from the team confirms that they are closing down servers this morning, with new content a good possibility.

GTA 6 release date: Bad news for Grand Theft Auto fans not planning upgrade

Analysts and game journalists are predicting a new GTA 6 release date, and it’s not all good news for fans. While there have been increasing hopes of something being announced soon, these have been repeatedly dashed by current events. The latest was Rockstar Games’ reveal of an enhanced and expanded version of GTA 5 coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X. This is launching in 2021 and almost certainly rules out a new Grand Theft Auto game for that year. And now industry experts are predicting a GTA 6 release date being set for late 2022, or 2023.

This would make it the longest wait ever for a new Grand Theft Auto game and would also rule out PS4 and Xbox One ports.

Not only that, but it would also mean that no true GTA game was ever developed for the two consoles, which have been on the market since 2013.

It could prove a bitter blow for those gamers who aren’t preparing to upgrade their Grand Theft Auto experience this year.

The latest information on the subject has been shared by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who is well-known for his sources.

Speaking on the Triple Click Podcast, via Daily Star, Schreier shared his take on the current situation surrounding Rockstar Games and GTA 6.

“I will say that I know a lot of people out there, especially a lot of avid GTA fans, probably skewing younger have been upset because I said that GTA 6 was in kinda early development and won’t be out for a few years.

“I think GTA 5 coming out next year to PS5 is evidence of that, [and if that isn’t evidence of a later GTA 6 release] then I don’t know what else is.

“Because GTA 6 is a ways away. Like, I wouldn’t expect that game until maybe the end of 2022, 2023. I think [that’s more realistic] for a game like that.”

If GTA 6 does arrive in 2022, gamers fans will be expecting a huge upgrade from what they have been enjoying on PS4 and Xbox One.

The good news for current-gen console owners is that GTA Online will be getting new content over the coming years, extending the life of the platform significantly.

Not only will a new version of GTA 5 be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X, but a standalone version of GTA Online is also in the works.

Rockstar Games have never put a time limit on the highly profitable multiplayer mode, and moving to a standalone version certainly suggests longevity.

This means that even if we do see GTA Online eventually leave the PS4 and Xbox One versions behind due to hardware limitations, there should still be plenty of free compatible updates being planned over the next year.

Here’s the latest information from Rockstar Games on the situation involving GTA 5 coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X:

“As recently revealed at Sony’s PlayStation 5 digital event, the adventures of Michael, Franklin and Trevor are coming to a new generation of consoles, including PlayStation 5, in the second half of 2021.

“The new generation versions of GTAV will feature a range of technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware, making the game more beautiful and more responsive than ever.

“And for the massive and vibrant community of Grand Theft Auto Online players worldwide, the journey through the ever-evolving, shared world of GTA Online will continue on to the new generation with more new updates including additional GTA Online content exclusive to the new consoles and PC.”

The new announcement regarding GTA 5 coming to PS5 was revealed by Sony during a big PlayStation reveal event.

And according to a recent report, Grand Theft Auto V’s appearance was one of the most popular unveilings.

The port was revealed alongside news regarding Horizon Forbidden West, and Spider-Man Miles Morales.

And according to a report from TechRadar, chat-based research consultants, Reach3 Insights, found that fans were most excited about the GTA 5.

The stats include 25% of fans saying it was the PS5 game they’re most excited for, with the new Spider-Man entry another popular announcement.

Animal Crossing New Horizons a big hit with Switch gamers, with the Daily Express Online giving it 5/5.

“Animal Crossing: New Horizons will truly capture the hearts, minds, and lives of long-time Animal Crossing players.

“While the game only introduces a handful of new mechanics, it doubles down and improves on so many of the older aspects. So much so that fans will be absolutely giddy by the end of the first day.

“Despite some of the new terraforming and crafting tools being a little stiff, their inclusion is quite literally groundbreaking for the game.

“Fans and newcomers will fall head-over-heels in love with this island getaway, and just when they need it most. Indeed, a game that lets you escape to a tropical paradise is THE perfect release for the coronavirus lockdown, and a must-have for all Nintendo Switch owners.”

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards this week and map news, following Iron Banner reveal

Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris starts June 26 across all platforms, and the development team has confirmed it won’t be the only big event coming to the game. Season of Arrivals will host its first Iron Banner at the end of June, meaning Lord Saladin’s return to The Tower. The good news is that Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner will not crossover, meaning you can enjoy both without having to cut your time. Iron Banner will kick off as soon as Trials of Osiris ends on Tuesday, June 30, during the normal Weekly Reset.

This means that the Destiny 2 Iron Banner start time is scheduled for 6pm GMT, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Commenting on the first Iron Banner event of Season 11, Bungie told fans this week: “There is a time for harmony among players and a time for honourable battle as well.

“The venerable Lord Saladin will see to it himself. Next week, he’ll return to the Tower for the first Iron Banner of Season of Arrivals.

“Bonus Valor will also enabled throughout the week. The event will work similar to last Season with a few new rewards. We will be adding two reprised weapons and curating the weapon reward pool down to eight weapons.

“The Forward Path and The Fool’s Remedy will also be updated to have two additional perks specific to these Iron Banner weapons.

“The armor set this Season will be a reprise of the Iron Fellowship set. Here is a look at it with the new shader as well as the new emblem for this Season.

“We also want to remind players that skill-based matchmaking has been disabled in Iron Banner this Season.

  • PS5 free game: Sony gives fans extra incentive to go next-gen

“Speak with Saladin after the reset and then get out there and prove your worth to the Iron Lords of the past.”

Until Iron Banner kicks off, Guardians can enjoy the challenges of the Trials of Osiris this week.

The Destiny 2 event will be launching on June 26, and will be one of the major PvP events for Season 11 during June.

Bungie won’t reveal the list of the new rewards on social media, so it will be up to gamers to provide what weapons and armour can be earned over the coming days.

Meanwhile, Trials of Osiris map news will be confirmed as soon as everything goes live on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

The development team will be releasing the 3v3 Crucible playlist at around 6pm GMT on June 26, and returning players will want to visit Saint-14 soon after, who will be located in the Tower Hangar.

The Osiris reset offers a new inventory of Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.

A different map and a fresh set of rewards will be available to Guardians today if they meet the requirements of the 960 Power rating needed to buy Passages.

As ever, Trials fans will earn exclusive rewards by defeating other teams of three, while hoping to gain entry to the Lighthouse.

It should be noted that Mods now drop through a white item bauble instead of an erroneously assigned Exotic Engram bauble, and duplicate mods will no longer drop from the Flawless chest.

Additional Masterwork material rewards now drop at three, five, and seven Trials wins, and Trials Tokens distribution has been re-balanced to focus on wins three, five, and seven of a Trials Passage.

Borderlands 3 DLC 3 release date news: Bounty Of Blood launch time update

Borderlands 3 DLC 3 – Bounty of Blood – has a release date set for June 25 across all platforms. The game’s next Campaign Add-on will be available to play through the Borderlands 3 Season Pass and Super Deluxe Edition, and it looks there will be plenty to do on the frontier planet Gehenna. Gearbox has provided plenty of information on what fans can expect after the new campaign content goes live this week. The official Borderlands 3 DLC 3 – Bounty of Blood – launch date is set for Thursday, June 25, with no set time announced for when it will be available to download.

Based on previous launches, we would expect the Bounty of Blood DLC to be available by 5pm GMT in the UK.

This would follow the usual pattern of content launches from Gearbox, however, it should be noted that delays and last-minute changes can happen.

No official confirmation on the subject has been shared past the confirmation that everyone will be able to play DLC 3 on June 25.

As mentioned above, Borderlands 3 – Bounty of Blood pits you against a gang of beast-riding outlaws on the frontier planet of Gehenna.

Bounty of Blood features several gameplay additions, like the customisable JetBeast hoverbike that’ll help you traverse the open plains of the frontier planet quickly.

You’ll also find four brand new interactive objects that will aid you in combat and exploration.

One of them is called The Traitorweed, which can temporarily turn enemies into allies when shot, while the Breezebloom will boost your Vault Hunter to great heights so you can reach otherwise-out-of-reach areas.

More loot has also been promised but you’re unlikely to run into quite so many familiar faces on your next adventure.

Commenting on the setting for the new DLC, a Gearbox description adds: “As with the previous two campaign add-ons, Moxxi’s Heist of The Handsome Jackpot and Guns, Love, and Tentacles: The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, Bounty of Blood will feature an all-new setting for all manner of shooting-and-looting mayhem.

“But unlike those adventures, your Vault Hunter will be interacting with a cast of characters you’ve never crossed paths with before, all as part of a story being shared by an unseen narrator.

“You’ll travel to the harsh desert planet of Gehenna to claim a bounty on The Devil Riders, a vicious gang of bandits mounted atop fearsome beasts. The Devil Riders have been terrorizing the small town of Vestige, and you’ll have to team up with the locals if you want any hope of administering some frontier justice.

“Along the way, you’ll run into fresh faces like Rose, a warrior who’s adept with pistol and katana alike, and Juno, a rough-and-tumble brawler with a checkered past.

“Your actions will have a direct impact on Vestige and its denizens, as you help build the town back up through story missions and Crew Challenges alike.

“As you do your part to restore order to Gehenna, the narrator will chime in to provide commentary on the action, or just give a bit of insight into some characters’ innermost thoughts.

“Bounty of Blood will also boast a bevy of new game mechanics to complement its story, like the customizable Jetbeast hoverbike that’ll help you traverse the open plains of Gehenna in a hurry. “Every Western needs its horse.

“For the Vault Hunter, it’s the Jetbeast, which is half jetbike, and half creature, and can be outfitted with artillery like dual machine guns or mortar weapons. There’s also a slew of interactable objects found only on Gehenna that will aid you in combat and exploration.

“For instance, the Traitorweed can temporarily turn enemies into allies, while the Breezebloom will lift your Vault Hunter to great heights so you can reach otherwise-out-of-reach areas. And of course, there’ll be loads of new loot to chase after, including plenty of Western-themed weaponry.”
