Super Mario 3D All-Stars patch will let you invert the games’ camera controls

Super Mario 3D All-Stars, the Nintendo Switch collection of three classic 3D Mario games, will soon let users tailor the games’ camera controls. On Tuesday, Nintendo said it will release a free software update for Super Mario 3D All-Stars on Nov. 16 that adds a new inverted camera control setting for all three games.

Those games are, of course, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Each title will have its own camera control setting, as seen in a tweet from Nintendo of America:

Super Mario Sunshine will have the most granular control, letting players adjust the game cameras, FLUDD camera, and Mario-specific cameras to their liking.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars was released for Nintendo Switch on Sept. 18. In our review of the collection, we called it a “perfect re-creation of an imperfect batch of games.” Nintendo will sell Super Mario 3D All-Stars through March 31, 2021, when it plans to pull the game for sale from the Switch eShop.
