Shin Megami Tensei V Coming To Nintendo Switch In 2021
During a Nintendo Direct presentation focused on third-party games, the company revealed a release date window for Shin Megami Tensei V. It will be coming to Switch in 2021 with a simultaneous worldwide release.
The date came at the end of a cinematic trailer. It ends with the tagline, “The time for Creation has come.” In a separate announcement, Nintendo describes the game as an “epic role-playing game” and says that “order itself has crumbled and chaos reigns over all.”
Atlus has been teasing SMT V since 2017. It was first revealed after the company had announced it was making a Switch-exclusive Shin Megami Tensei game. The company later announced it would be getting a western release in North America and Europe, but this is the first we’ve heard of a simultaneous worldwide release.

Shin Megami Tensei V had been previously known under the placeholder name Shin Megami Tensei: Brand New Title. At the time it had its own trailer, showing a destroyed office building and vicious-looking demons.
The Nintendo Direct Mini presentation began with a note that, due to COVID-19, “release dates and other information presented in this video are subject to change.”
