Xbox Series X will have Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and more at launch

The Xbox Series X/S has a massive amount of entertainment apps available from day one, with Microsoft highlighting Apple TV in particular.

While both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S will have various entertainment apps at launch, it looks as if Microsoft will have Sony beat at launch.

Sony previously confirmed that it will have six of these apps available from the PlayStation 5’s launch, but Microsoft announced today that the Xbox Series X/S will come with more than double that.

So far, Microsoft has confirmed the following:

  • Netflix
  • Disney+
  • HBO Max
  • Spotify
  • YouTube
  • YouTube TV
  • Apple TV
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Hulu
  • NBC Peacock
  • Vudu
  • FandangoNow
  • Twitch
  • Sky Go
  • NOW TV
  • Sky Ticket

And that’s apparently not even the complete list, with Microsoft saying that there’s still more to be included.

While Sony has promised the likes of Hulu and Amazon Prime Video will come to PlayStation 5, and it will likely get more down the line, Microsoft’s initial line-up is much more comprehensive out of the gate.

In particular, it highlights Apple TV, saying that the app also allows you to subscribe to channels like Showtime and CBS All Access and buy/rent more than 100,000 movies and TV shows.

Microsoft adds that it has made a new Entertainment block for both the Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One that showcases the latest movies, TV shows, and music and it will be automatically pinned to the Home screen for new Xbox owners.

The Xbox Series X/S will launch on November 10.
