Tropico 5 Is Today’s Free Epic Games Store Title
Epic Games Store is giving away Tropico 5 for free until December 24, adding the simulation game to the laundry list of titles the platform has given away for free this month.
In December alone, Epic Games Store users have been offered dozens of free games as part of the Holiday Sale 2020. The Long Dark, Cities: Skylines, and Oddworld: New N Tasty might already be part of your library – if you’ve been keeping up with the daily offerings – and it looks like plenty more are planned throughout December. A recent leak provided a long list of popular titles that are supposedly involved in the promotion, and so far most of them have been spot on. Tropico 5 is the latest addition to the free Epic Games Store catalog – and one that was included on the leaked list.
If you’re not familiar with it, Tropico 5 is a construction and city management sim game, seeing players build up their empire from a tiny settlement into a bustling metropolis. It’s billed as a “dictator sim,” and there’s actually a fair bit of tongue-in-cheek humor spread throughout the game. It’s garnered mostly positive reviews from critics – and typically retails for $19.99 – so its not a bad addition to the Holiday Sale 2020.
Epic Games Store has given away some impressive games throughout 2020, and its daily promotions during December are a great way to end the year. No doubt everyone is ready for this year to be behind them, and ending it with a few free games is a nice way to ring in 2021.
While Epic has been giving away titles left and right, it’s also decided to bring Spotify to the service. We’re not quite sure what that move was about, but it’s possible a future partnership or revenue sharing deal is slowly being built between the companies. Either way, you’ll now find Spotify available for download on the Epic Games Store along with a smattering of free and discounted titles.
Be sure to scoop up Tropico 5 before tomorrow at 11:00am.
