Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Co-Developer Lost Boys Merging With Gearbox

Lost Boys Interactive, indie studio that contributed to the recently released Borderlands spinoff Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, has just been acquired by Gearbox for an undisclosed sum. Lost Boys Interactive will retain its management and staff, operating as a subsidiary within Gearbox Entertainment.

The studio was first formed in 2017 and has previously worked on blockbuster franchises like PUBG and Call of Duty. It began assisting Gearbox with Tiny Tina's Wonderlands soon after its announcement and will continue to assist Gearbox with other upcoming titles following the acquisition.

Located in Madison, Wisconsin, and Austin, Texas, Lost Boys Interactive is a remote-first studio, something that's becoming far more common in the pandemic age. With currently over 220 employees, Lost Boys plans to expand to over 350 workers by 2024.

"Lost Boys is an incredible studio with industry-leading talent that continue to push the bar higher for what gamers expect from their favorite franchises," said Gearbox founder Randy Pitchford. "I am excited for Chase, Rod, Shaun, Mark and my old friend Tim, along with all of the incredible talent at Lost Boys, to have an immediate and positive impact on the games secretly in development at Gearbox Software. I am also eager to empower this amazing team to provide their world-class development services to partners and allies throughout the larger game industry."

Speaking of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox's latest game just received its first DLC today. The Coiled Captors DLC adds a brand-new dungeon located in Dreamveil Overlook with a level requirement of 13. Inside you'll find loads of monsters and a boss named Chums, who will grow and change each time you kill it. Collect new weapons, gear, and cosmetics by accumulating currency each time you kill Chums, but be sure to cash in before you die, otherwise, you'll have to start all over from scratch.
