Street Kid Is The Most Popular Lifepath In Cyberpunk 2077
Move over, all you Corpos and Nomads, Cyberpunk 2077 is for Street Kids – at least according to CD Projekt Red’s new in-game statistics.
As part of its ongoing series, Cyberpunk in Numbers, the developers revealed another brief piece of information about players’ preferences in the dark future world of Cyberpunk 2077. This time we learned that more players have opted for the Street Kid lifepath than any other available in the ambitious RPG. At least 41% of the players chose to be raised on the streets of Night City.
While the devs didn’t provide the exact numbers for the other two lifepaths introduced in the project — Corpo and Nomad — there’s less than 60% left for the two of them combined. That probably means they are lagging pretty far behind.
A lifepath in Cyberpunk 2077 is the player-defined backstory for your particular V, taken straight from the pen and paper RPG Cyberpunk. The lifepath alters the first hour of the game, letting the players experience three varied opening chapters. In addition, your lifepath will slightly change your quests and dialogue in the rest of the game.
In the comment section fans were quick to react, mostly praising the Nomad beginning of the game. Twitter user @connorarmy27 described this lifepath as “so beautiful and very powerful”, with many others agreeing this is their personal favourite. However, others expressed their disappointment that lifepaths have very little effect on the overall course of the game.
Speaking of player taste, CD Projekt Red recently revealed Panam is the most popular flame for V, ahead of others by a large margin. More than 67% of players choose her to match their merc, leaving Judy Alvarez, Meredith Stout, River Ward, and Kerry Eurodyne far behind.
CD Projekt Red is busy with lots of projects these days. Aside from the work on the technical improvements for Cyberpunk 2077, which still hasn’t returned to the PS Store, the studio is preparing The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 current-gen upgrades for this year. In addition, the devs are working on a new mobile game The Witcher: Monster Slayer, and continue supporting Gwent with constant new updates. The team is about to dive deep into the “parallel development of two triple-A games” that are set to begin development in 2022.
