Multiple PS5 pre-orders live on Amazon Australia, release date incoming?

Several pre-orders for the PlayStation 5 console and games have been spotted on Amazon Australia, but still no release date in sight.

Even after Sony’s big PlayStation 5 reveal, where the company announced a number of new games and showed off the console itself, there are still plenty of questions yet to be answered.

The main ones are how much it will cost and when it will release. There has been speculation about its pricing in the past but nothing concrete. And as for a release date, Sony has insisted that it will come out by the end of the year.

However, it has been discovered that pre-orders for not just the console, but several pieces of related hardware and games, have been listed on Amazon Australia.

The listings don’t mention any dates or prices, with the items simply marked as unavailable, but it could suggest that Sony is gearing up for an announcement that will answer those two lingering questions very soon.

The hardware that has been listed consists of the following:

  • PS5
  • PS5 Digital Edition
  • DualSense Wireless Controller
  • DualSense Charging Station
  • PS5 Media Remote
  • PS5 HD Camera
  • Pulse 3D Headset

As for the games, they are all ones that were featured during the reveal event:

  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Gran Turismo 7
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Returnal
  • Sackboy: A Big Adventure
  • Destruction All Stars
  • NBA 2K21
  • Demon’s Souls
  • Horizon Forbidden West

It’s easy to assume that these might be launch titles but, while the likes of the Miles Morales game and NBA 2K21 are confirmed to release this year, others like Returnal and Destruction All Stars have already been given release dates of 2021.

As for the games without release dates, such as Horizon Forbidden West and Demon’s Souls, it’s unlikely that they will launched alongside the console, although technically there’s still a chance.

The PlayStation 5 will launch sometimes this year in time for Christmas.
