Military Officers And Streamers Are Teaming Up To Compete In The First Ever Transatlantic Military Esports Competition

The second annual CODE Bowl is coming on December 11. This year’s competition will expand to include not just service members from the US armed forces, but also those from the UK as well. And just as last year, all proceeds from the tournament will go to supporting the Call of Duty Endowment which helps to find quality employment for veterans following their time in service.

This year will mark the first time the UK will have service members take part in the competition. All five branches of the US armed forces will be represented (and that includes the recently created Space Force), as well as members from the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force.

The competition will feature 8 teams taking part in 6v6 multiplayer battles in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Each team will be captained by a Call of Duty streamer and include at least one streamer/influencer, with the rest of the team composition consisting of service members. So far, CODE has announced Courage, LEGIQN, Huskerrs, Swagg, TeeP, Espresso, Vikkstar, Tommey, C9Emz, and Spratt will take part in the competition with more expected in the coming days.

Each team will also have their very own Call of Duty League pro player there to help coach them through each match.

As usual, the winning team gets the coveted CODE BOWL Trophy as well as bragging rights over the losing teams. One lucky service member enrolled in the Endowment will also be gifted a brand new 2021 RAM 1500 courtesy of RAM trucks.

“We are proud to have the United States and the United Kingdom militaries come together to participate in the C.O.D.E. Bowl,” said Dan Goldenberg, Executive Director of the Call of Duty Endowment. “This will be the first time all military branches have come together for a spirited eSports competition with the added bonus of raising awareness for veteran employment and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with USAA to make this happen.”

The CODE Bowl begins on December 11 at 6 PM GMT, 1 PM EST.
