Mandalorian Season 3 Coming In February 2023
The Mandalorian and Grogu will return, but not at the end of this year as we'd been expecting. Previous reports stating Season 3 of The Mandalorian might be pushed back to 2023 have turned out to be accurate as the official Mandalorian Twitter page announced the next season's air date.
Season 3 of the Mandalorian begins airing on Disney Plus in February of next year. Despite the slight delay, fans on Twitter seemed elated at simply having a release window.
Last season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger after Grogu joined Luke Skywalker for Jedi training. Then, in The Book of Boba Fett, we find out that Grogu had chosen to reunite with Din Djarin rather than complete his training under Skywalker's tutelage. The final fight scene was considered a bit of a mess by some, but it did show how far Grogu's powers had already developed in such a short time.
With the Mandalorian Season 3 coming in February, this likely means Ahsoka's series will be pushed back to later next spring. A recent article in Vanity Fair also revealed two more Star Wars series in development, including The Acolyte and an unnamed series from Spider-Man director Jon Watts. The Acolyte will take place before the Skywalker era, while Watts' series is described as "a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s." It will star four children between the ages of 11 and 12.
Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, the film about Luke Skywalker's legendary fighter squadron during the rebellion, has been delayed due to scheduling conflicts. Filling the gap in 2023 will be Taika Waititi's still unnamed Star Wars film first announced in May 2020.
Obi-Wan starring Ewan McGregor is set to begin tomorrow only on Disney Plus.
