I Know You’re Excited About Village, But Let’s Not Forget The X Gon’ Give It To Ya Mod For Resident Evil 2

The excitement for Resident Evil Village is palpable, and rightfully so. The next installment in the zombie-fighting franchise looks to be packed with creepy puzzles, iconic characters, and plenty of scares. Of course, one of the biggest reasons for the excitement is the reveal of the freakishly tall and equally hot vampire lady. Though, as everyone simps over the vertically blessed beauty, let’s not forget about the original tall babe from the franchise, Mr. X. Specifically, let’s not forget that he’s “Gon’ Give It To Ya”!

A few years ago, shortly after the release of the remake of Resident Evil 2, the Internet was jam-packed with mods of the game. From turning Mr. X into Thomas the Tank Engine to the one that turned all of the zombies into deadly tofu, modders had a field day with the game! However, one of the absolute best mods to come out of the game, and possibly any game ever, is the “Mr. X Gon’ Give It To Ya” mod.

Mr. X is an unstoppable hulking beast that stalks the player as they make their way through the already creepy police station. The sound of his ominous footfalls follow the player as they attempt to complete the puzzles and avoid the reanimated police officers that populate the area. He is one of the most anxiety-inducing aspect of the game.

His introduction in the game is done through a jump-scare that catches many a player off guard. As players traverse through an area of the station that they have already cleared, the grey-skinned tyrant emerges from behind a crashed helicopter and immediately begins stalking the player.

However, some genius decided to take the fear factor from this moment and use the obvious connection between a character named Mr. X and the DMX song “X Gon’ Give It To Ya”to create something wonderful. In the mod, as Mr. X approaches the player he is accompanied by the sounds of DMX rapping about how exactly X is going to give it to them. It was one thing to run around the zombie-infested station and listen for the approaching footsteps of the tyrant, it is another entirely to hear the angry sounds of DMX emerging from a hall.

Of course, it is made all the better knowing that if Mr. X happens to catch up with you, he really will give it to you. The unstoppable tall man will likely kill the player if they are unfortunate enough to be caught by him. It makes the whole thing that much sweeter.

So, as we all ready ourselves to run from, or towards, the sexy vampire ladies of Resident Evil Village, let’s not forget the original undead beefcake and his appropriate theme song!
