Genshin Impact: Uncover the Secret of the Uninhabited Island Guide

The massive world laid out for you in Genshin Impact is just begging to be explored. Secrets are hidden around what feels like every corner, rewarding you for going off the beaten path and allowing your curiosity to guide you. Some of the bigger secrets the game has tucked away require a bit more from you, though, such as the Uncover the Secret of the Uninhabited Island quest. Even the name of this quest is cryptic, so it’s only natural that most players would have a hard time figuring out what they need to do, or even where to go to start. We’ll help you discover all the secrets this island has to offer in our guide.

Genshin Impact: Uncover the Secret of the Uninhabited Island Guide

Before you set off on your quest, you’ll need to be prepared for the challenges that await you. First, you must have at least one party member with you who has the Anemo, or wind, element, such as Traveler, the protagonist. Second, the conclusion of this quest has a tough fight waiting for you, so you’ll need to get yourself up to level 40 or higher to stand a chance.

Finding The Uninhabited Island

In order to kick off this quest, you’re going to need to find the island first. Even scanning over your map won’t give you much clues as to where it is considering it is so small, and so far off the coast. The best place to see it is also the best place to start your journey to it. Go all the way up to the peak of Starsnatch Cliff and look out to the east. Way out over the water you will see this small bit of land you need to reach. Jumping and gliding from here is your best way to get there, assuming you have the stamina for it. Meals can help with this, but it is very far.

If your stamina isn’t quite up to par, using a Cryo character’s elemental abilities to create ice platforms you can walk across is your next best bet. This will take quite a while, though, so prepare for a long trip.

Uncovering The Secret

However you manage to get there, once you reach the uninhabited island you’ll be directed to the broken sun dial in the center of the island. However, you won’t be able to actually start the quest at any time. First you should explore the beach and break the rocks to the right of the small campsite and pick up the Ragged Notebook item. This will explain that the sundial will only work at specific hours. You need wait to interact with it between 2am and 5am in game time to start the quest proper. Thankfully you can use the time skip function to fast forward until 2am.

The next part of the quest, titled Time and the Wind, is where you will need your Anemo character to progress through the rest of the quest. If you’re having trouble with the remaining steps, we have a full Time and the Wind guide you can check out too.
