Microsoft is set to announce its new Games with Gold April 2021 lineup later this week, but it’s going to be hard to top what is being planned for Xbox Game Pass.

The good news is that we won’t be waiting long before we find out what free games will be released next month.

The tech giant only has a few days left to share its Games with Gold April plans, meaning we will know by Wednesday, March 31.

But whatever is announced, it’s going to be difficult to beat the Xbox Game Pass in April.

Not only did we see a ton of new games go live this week, but a massive new one is being prepped.

March 25 saw the launch of several games, headlined by Octopath Traveler, a Square Enix RPG.

Xbox Game Pass also boasts Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life and Genesis Noir.

But the big one will be Outriders, which will be going live on April 1 as a game that can be played on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.

The good news is that it will be optimised for Xbox Series X, making it another next-gen title available on Game Pass.

“Outriders brings intense action and deep role-playing to Xbox Game Pass! Developed by People Can Fly, veterans of the shooter genre, Outriders presents a journey of survival across a savage planet, which can be tackled in both single-player and 1-3 player co-op.

Xbox unveils the Games with Gold picks for February

“The premise of the story is, in the distant future, we attempt to colonize a planet that we believed to be a new home for humanity. Turns out, the planet doesn’t want us there.

“Electromagnetic storms (Anomalies) burn out all technology more sophisticated than a light bulb. Robbed of the technological advantages upon which we had relied on, and faced with a flora and fauna that hyper-evolved to combat the human threat, colonization efforts quickly break down into a bitter war of attrition for the last remaining resources available to humanity.”

It’s still a week until we get the latest titles from Games with Gold and Xbox Game Pass, but there are new things to check out this weekend.

Until Monday, March 29, you can download and play Tekken 7, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI.
