There has been a flurry of PlayStation 5 stock updates today, including from Argos, Currys and Studio.
But the good news is that there could be one more in 2021 that will allow a lucky few to prepare for 2022 in style.
A new post on the official GAME PS5 pages suggests that the company could host a final PlayStation restock for 2021 between December 22 and December 24.
And if this does come true, it’s almost certain to be the final retail event of the year for anyone hoping to score a console during 2021.
This is the date that is listed on the official GAME site, although there will be a delay between buying and receiving the console.
Gamers could get the chance to pre-order a PlayStation 5 bundle over the coming days, likely between 8am GMT and 11am GMT, that will be delivered at the end of the month.
And while there are a number of different bundles currently listed, it’s unclear which ones will be available later this month.
This can be important as GAME likes to bundle different items together and charge a collective price, meaning you can end up spending more.
However, resellers usually avoid these bundles, as they are unable to sell the other items at a higher price.
It should also be noted that this is the current listing on the site, meaning GAME could change the dates, or might have not updated its pages from its last restock earlier in December.
But it will be worth tracking what happens next on the site as there is a possibility of a final PS5 restock in 2021.
Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.
PS5: Sony unveil pricing for PlayStation 5 console
And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:
CURRYS: Currys does not host purely digital restock events and there has been no indication when they might offer more consoles online. The retailer chooses to sell the PlayStation 5 via its brick and mortar stores via a ticketing system. Those interested must sign up on the Currys PS5 page to have the chance of being selected, which will then be followed by waiting until the next shipment of consoles arrives.
AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out.
ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. One final restock could happen this week, although GAME has not confirmed any new dates yet.
