Endless Legend And Endless Space 2 Free To Try On Steam This Weekend
Amplitude Studios, a French game developer founded in January 2011 by former Ubisoft employees Mathieu Girard and Romain de Waubert de Genlis, is currently celebrating its tenth anniversary. In honor of this milestone, the studio is making its three best-selling titles, Dungeon of the Endless, Endless Space 2, and Endless Legend, free to try this weekend on Steam.
In June 2016. Amplitude was acquired by Sega and is now part of Sega West, which includes Creative Assembly, Sports Interactive and Relic Entertainment. The studio, which focuses mainly on developing PC titles, uses Steam’s Early Access program, as well as Games2Gether, a crowd-sourcing platform, to gather input from players on design choices in order to enhance the gaming experience.
Amplitude, which is working on Humankind, a 4X game scheduled for release for Microsoft Windows, macOS and Stadia on April 22, 2021, is celebrating its inaugural Amplitude event, which concludes on Sunday, January 24. This weekend, Dungeon of the Endless, Endless Space 2, and Endless Legend, as well as related expansions, are discounted up to 75% off on Steam.
In addition, the Endless Universe Collection includes two new “minor DLC” expansions for Endless Legend and Endless Space 2. Players can also create a free account on Games2Gether and collect Virtual Fighter 2, an Endless Space 2 artbook and Humankind wallpapers for free.
The Endless Legend: Monstrous Tales expansion includes 20 new stories “enriched with monsters and myths from the depths of Auriga’s mysterious and menacing history,” while Endless Space 2: Dark Matter expansion features 12 new quests “that view the Endless Universe from the underbelly of events and discoveries that have, on occasion, been dark indeed.”
Aside from Humankind, in which players create their own civilization by combining 60 historical cultures from the Ancient to the Modern Age, Amplitude is also developing Endless Dungeon for release on PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, though the release date has yet to be announced.
