The seventeenth season of Destiny 2 is finally here, bringing in new equipment, Dungeons, weekly missions, and more. The latest exotic Sidearm, the Trespasser, is amongst the newest gear found in Season of the Haunted. Its Unrepentant Ability laces its rounds with Arc energy and fires off a six-round burst after you eliminate an enemy and reload immediately afterward.

Additionally, landing a kill with the Trespasser's Unrepentant Ability active will extend its duration to ten seconds and replenish your ammo, allowing you to keep firing Arc-infused six-round bursts at enemies. This buff will remain active until you either miss a shot, fail to eliminate a target or let the countdown timer expire.

How To Obtain The Trespasser

The Trespasser is available in the new Season Pass that's part of Season of the Haunted, Destiny 2's seventeenth season, and The Witch Queen's second of four seasons. You will automatically receive the Exotic Sidearm if you purchase the Season Pass, but you will have to achieve Level 35 to claim it from the Free Tier of the Season Pass if you haven't bought it.

  • Premium Season Pass: Automatically
  • Free Season Pass: Reach Level 35

The Trespasser Catalyst

After obtaining the Trespasser, it's time to begin the upgrade process. To do this, you will have to head to the Tower and speak with Banshee-44 and accept the Exotic Quest "No Trespassing." With this Exotic Step in your possession, you will need to carry out a handful of quick and easy steps before obtaining the Catalyst for the Trespasser. You can find details on each step below!

No Trespassing Step One

For the first step of the Exotic Quest, you will have to land 50 Precision Kills, defeat enemies with a weapon that deals Arc damage, and eliminate 50 Fallen to complete it. To speed this process up, if you have an Arc weapon you can consistently land precision kills with, farming kills at the Cosmodrome, EDZ, Europa, or the Nessus will be your best bet to kill three birds with one stone.

  1. Eliminate 50 enemies with precision kills
  2. Eliminate 50 Fallen
  3. Eliminate enemies with Arc damage

No Trespassing Step Two

Unfortunately, step two of the Exotic Quest is less breezy than the previous one, having you accumulate Calibration Data with Trespasser kills via Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard playlist completions. To complete this step, you are looking at 450 eliminations without the Premium Season Pass. However, Premium Season Pass owners will obtain the Catalyst Quest Boost when progressing through the tiers. Keep in mind that securing a win in Crucible and Gambit and completing Nightfalls will give you bonus progression for this step.

  1. Earn eliminations with the Trespasser in Crucible, Gambit, and Vanguard playlists.
  2. Completing Nightfalls or winning Crucible and Gambit matches will reward bonus progression.

No Trespassing Step Three

With the second step done, you can finally obtain your Trespasser Catalyst! To do this, head back to the Tower and speak with Banshee-44 once more. After listening to what he has to say, he will hand over the Catalyst, allowing you to start leveling it up!

  • Head to the Tower
  • Speak with Banshee-44

Leveling Up The Trespasser Catalyst

Now that the Catalyst is in your possession, it is time to level it up! This part of the process is quite tedious and will take lots of time. To fully level your Trespasser Catalyst up, you must eliminate 700 enemies with the Trespasser. This step will be a time investment whether you focus on it or let it complete naturally in the background as you do other things.

Our suggestion is to get it out of the way as soon as possible and farm kills in the early parts of the Shuro Chi or Grasp of Avarice encounters. Furthermore, farming the Blind Well or Altars of Sorrow seems to be another popular way to level the Catalyst quickly. However, if you don't feel like farming 700 kills (rightfully so), you can use the Trespasser while you complete missions and daily and weekly activities and let the challenge complete naturally over time. This will take significantly longer, however, so be warned!

Trespasser Catalyst Perk

Whenever you finally land your 700th kill with the Trespasser, you will fully level up its Catalyst and unlock the perk Tunnel Vision. Tunnel Vision grants you faster aim-down-sight speed and enhances your target acquisition when reloading after defeating an enemy. While this may not seem like much, it actually becomes quite significant when mixing this buff with the Trespasser's Unrepentant Ability.

It won't break the game or change the way the gun works by any stretch, but it takes advantage of how you already use it and gives it an excellent enhancement that benefits you greatly, and that's worth the effort to us!
