Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting A New Radio Station Full Of Fan Songs, Hosted By Sasha Grey

Cyberpunk 2077's upcoming expansion, Phantom Liberty, will also add a new radio station called Growl FM. The station will be hosted by actress and streamer Sasha Grey, and will be comprised of tracks submitted by fans as part of a music contest held by CD Projekt Red.

This is the first new station to be added since the game launched in 2020, and also the first that will feature songs composed by the fanbase. Contestants have until November 30 to submit their own tracks, with between 12 and 15 being chosen to appear in the DLC.

Songs that are submitted as part of the contest don't have to be of a particular genre, but there are some restrictions on what can be used. For example, all songs must be in English, Spanish, Japanese, or Chinese. It must also be between two and three minutes long, and be inspired by the short clip introducing the station that's shared in the tweet below. The clip makes a few references to the in-game gang The Mox, so it's probably best to aim for that kind of vibe.

Winners will take home a $3,000 cash prize, as well as some Cyberpunk goodies. And yet despite this, you might want to read the terms and conditions carefully before you submit. Any winners will have to transfer "all economic copyrights and related rights" to the song to CD Projekt Red, allowing it to do whatever it wants with the track. This also means you won't be able to monetize it yourself, and there is no mention of getting any royalties if CDPR releases the track itself.

As for the station itself, however, Sasha Grey will be lending her voice to Growl FM. Grey will be taking the role of the station's host, Ash. This is also a first in the game, as unlike other sandboxes, Cyberpunk's radio stations just play music back-to-back without a host, only interrupted by occasional news bulletins.

You can submit your track on the website, and make sure it fits all of the requirements. Phantom Liberty is set to launch sometime in 2023.
