Crysis Remastered on Switch looks a lot better than you'd expect in new trailer
Crysis Remastered on Switch is making a big deal out of its technical details, with a new trailer entirely dedicated to it.
Crysis Remastered being announced for current hardware was certainly a pleasant reveal for fans of the original game, but many were surprised to learn that the first person shooter would also see release on Nintendo Switch.
The original game was very technically demanding, to the point where it couldn’t run at max settings on even the most expensive gaming PC of the time, so it being released on a console that isn’t as powerful as its current gen peers has raised some eyebrows.
As if to put any worries to rest, developer Crytek has released a trailer completely dedicated to showing off all the technical features present on the Switch version of the game.
It even continuously highlights how all the footage on display is recorded straight from the Switch.
The video description highlights a number of features, most of which sound like meaningless buzzwords, but the trailer helps demonstrate exactly what these features are and why you should be excited to see them.
There are the usual features, like high-quality textures and gyro aiming, and in the trailer, we can see destructible environments (which includes the foliage), dynamic lighting, and dynamic resolution. It even takes time to brag about the game’s maximum explosions and sharks.
While the game is being shown at only 30 frames per second, a quick glance at the comments below shows fans of the original are more than happy and impressed to see it running on Switch so well.
There seems to be particular praise for the gyro controls and several express hope that this will pave the way to Crysis 2 and 3 being re-released as well.
Crysis Remastered will release for Nintendo Switch on 23 July, with releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC coming later in the year.
