CES 2021: MSI Reveals New Lineup Of RTX 30 Gaming Laptops

MSI dropped big news during CES 2021, including the reveal of a powerful new gaming laptop – the MSI GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat. Its name might leave a bit to be desired, but there’s nothing to complain about when looking at its staggering spec sheet.

The GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat is inspired by ancient Babylonian mythology. “Tiamat is a primordial goddess, the mother of younger gods,” said MSI. “It’s not only the symbol of primordial creation, but also personified as the leader among all creatures. Tiamat, with her supreme strength and force, commanded the mythology and had been chanted through history.”

With that backdrop as inspiration, MSI went ahead and crafted one of the most powerful gaming laptops on the market. Just take a look at its jaw-dropping hardware:

  • UP to 10th Intel Core i9 processor
  • Up to GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU 16GB GDDR6
  • Mystic Light with panoramic RGB lighting
  • 17.3″ Full HD (1920 x 1080) Display
  • 300Hz Refresh Rate
  • New Cooler Boost 5 with larger fans and wider heatpipes
  • Per-Key RGB gaming keyboard by SteelSeries

A price is yet to be announced for the laptop, although it’s scheduled for a late February launch. There’s also a low-key version of the GE76 Raider, one that doesn’t feature the ornate lid design.

MSI had more to discuss than just the GE76, as the company revealed both the GE76 and GE66 lineups will be available this year with Nvidia RTX 3000 series cards – bringing DLSS, ray-tracing, and numerous other graphical enhancements to your display. The same goes for the newly revealed GP76 and GP66 Leopard laptops, as they’ll take advantage of Nvidia’s latest GPUs.

Unfortunately, pricing details and specific release dates are still unknown for most of these products. The GE76 Raider Dragon Edition Tiamat, however, is slated to launch towards the end of February. To learn more about the powerful new laptop lineup, you can watch the full press conference here. Detailed specs are also available on MSI’s official website.
