Animal Crossing New Horizons July update: Big Summer plans on Nintendo Switch

Nintendo is bringing brand new features to Animal Crossing New Horizons, starting with a big update in July. The gaming giant has confirmed that one of its hit titles from 2020 will continue to receive new content throughout the Summer. This will come in waves, with a new patch scheduled to arrive as early as next week, kicking off July in style.

The first Animal Crossing New Horizons Summer update is scheduled to release on July 3, 2020.

No launch time has been set for the big patch, although most new content for the game has been arriving very early in the morning.

This should mean that Animal Crossing fans will have very early access to the new Summer update features on Friday, July 3, 2020.

As ever, Nintendo may choose to do things a little differently with its next update, so Animal Crossing fans should keep an eye on the game’s official social media feeds for the latest.

The latest information from Nintendo confirms that they are bringing new features to Animal Crossing on Nintendo Switch in July.

This includes adding the ability to swim around your island, as well as being able to interact with new characters.

A message from the team adds: “Cool off this summer by diving into the Animal Crossing: New Horizons free Summer Update – Wave 1, arriving 7/3!

“Put on your wet suit to dive & swim in the ocean, and even meet new characters!

“But that’s not all! Another summer update is planned to be released in early August, so stay tuned for further details to come.”

Swimming and DivingGrab a wet suit and get aquatically acquainted with your island marine life when swimming and diving arrive to Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Swim in the inviting waters off the coast of your island and dive to discover and scoop up sea creatures that inhabit your island’s ecosystem.

Keep your eyes peeled for any prospective additions to the museum, and make sure to listen for fun facts from Blathers when you donate your new discoveries.

Pascal Brings Rewarding RecipesWhile swimming, you might meet someone new! The friendly visitor Pascal seems to love scallops, and if you discover one while diving, he may ask you if he can have it. As a thank you, he’ll share some of his mermaid-themed DIY recipes.

Gulliver?  After downloading the free update, a familiar face will occasionally wash up on shore, but sporting slightly different, pirate-like clothing. Offer him a helping hand and he’ll send a special reward to show his gratitude.

Animal Crossing New Horizons a big hit with Switch gamers, with the Daily Express Online giving it 5/5.

“Animal Crossing: New Horizons will truly capture the hearts, minds, and lives of long-time Animal Crossing players.

“While the game only introduces a handful of new mechanics, it doubles down and improves on so many of the older aspects. So much so that fans will be absolutely giddy by the end of the first day.

“Despite some of the new terraforming and crafting tools being a little stiff, their inclusion is quite literally groundbreaking for the game.

“Fans and newcomers will fall head-over-heels in love with this island getaway, and just when they need it most. Indeed, a game that lets you escape to a tropical paradise is THE perfect release for the coronavirus lockdown, and a must-have for all Nintendo Switch owners.”
