Tough times continue for PSG.LGD as they are eliminated from OGA Dota PIT
Group stages at the OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China event came
to an end today with two teams being eliminated from the tournament and six
moving on into the playoff stage.
After EHOME and Invictus Gaming conquered their groups in
flawless fashion, there were still two spots from each group available in the
playoff stage, all of which were finalized today. With PSG.LGD taking down CDEC
Gaming yesterday, before CDEC were victorious over Vici Gaming, VG and LGD were
set to battle for which team would be eliminated and which would make the playoffs.
With their form of late having some major ups and downs, LGD succumbed to VG,
losing in two rather quick games – barely having the upper hand for more than a
few moments in the early periods.
The win will see VG take second place in Group A, while CDEC
take third and, unfortunately for PSG.LGD, their fourth-place finish sees them
eliminated from the event. In Group B, Royal Never Give Up were able to make
swift work of Team Aster in the opening series, ensuring the second-place position
for themselves.
Aster were now left with the task of beating Sparking Arrow
Gaming if they were to keep their tournament hopes alive. While we have seen
some amazing performances from SAG in recent times, today was not one of those
as they found themselves falling far behind their opponents and losing 0-2.
Aster, with their first victory, would manage to move on into the playoff
stage, while SAG would be eliminated.
The playoff stage kicks off tomorrow with all teams moving
into the upper bracket for now – EHOME and iG getting a small break as they skip
the first upper bracket round.
- Vici Gaming versus Team Aster
- Royal Never Give Up versus CDEC Gaming
The winners of these two series will move on to face either
EHOME or iG, respectively, while the losers will drop into the lower bracket,
where best-of-three elimination series could see them eliminated.
