PSG.LGD and Team Aster top their groups at the OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China event

OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China saw
its group stage action come to an end today and with only three teams remaining
in each group, the competition was fierce to claim the top seed spot.

After both Sparking Arrow Gaming
and Invictus Gaming were eliminated from the OGA Dota PIT Season 3 just yesterday,
it was time for the rest of Group A to take shape with PSG.LGD taking on Royal
Never Give Up, where there was a possibility of massive tiebreakers should the
result go in RNG’s favour. After taking a strong and decisive victory in game
one, it seemed that RNG were on the right track, with a super Spectre display.
However, having seen that Techies was left open in game one and went unpicked,
LGD were quick to pick up the hero that seemed to heavily favour them – and the
story wrote itself after this.

17-minutes is all it took before the GG call came out in game two and, with the tied series, LGD now looked like the unstoppable squad that we’ve witnessed again in recent times. Grabbing the Techies again in the final game, LGD stomped RNG, taking the series in a 2-1 reverse sweep and claiming their spot in the second round of the upper bracket playoffs. For RNG, they will have to fight through the first round of the upper bracket at playoffs – with their opponent coming from Group B; EHOME, Team Aster or Team MagMa.

EHOME were set for a double dose of Dota 2 action today, and after their performance in the recent China Dota2 Pro Cup Season 1, they were easily considered favourites to top Group B. Aster were their first challengers today and they came out swinging, toppling EHOME in game one and taking control of the series. However, an hour long game two would follow, seeing the series become tied up at 1-1, with the top seed spot now on the line. Aster showed some great skill as they rang rings around their opponents, keeping the lead heavily into their favour and securing the 2-1 victory.

Next up for EHOME would be MagMa, who surprised everyone in their decimation of Invictus Gaming early in the group stages. Although MagMa had some great moments, the experience of EHOME undoubtedly showed as both games saw them losing as EHOME found their footing. Luckily for MagMa, they are not eliminated just yet and will get a shot at playoffs when they take on RNG, while EHOME will face off against Vici Gaming in the first round of playoffs.

OGA Dota PIT Season 3: China now
takes a one day break before the first round of playoff action kicks off, with
PSG.LGD and Team Aster getting an extended break until round two of the upper
bracket playoff action.
