Misha to stand-in for Ninjas in Pyjamas at OMEGA League Immortal division

Ninjas in Pyjamas are set to make their OMEGA League debut tomorrow, August 15, but unfortunately, they are yet to sign a full time member to fill the vacant support 5 position.

After Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev was released from the roster at the beginning of July, NiP played in the Europe and CIS portion of OGA Dota PIT with Evil Geniuses’ Andreas Franck “Cr1t-” Nielsen standing in. However, his addition, as good as it might have looked on paper, didn’t produce smashing performances in the tournament.

“Having Andreas partake as a stand-in was a pleasure, but the main problem was not having a stand-in, it was me switching to position 5 for that tournament. Dota PIT is a really good example of how a good idea, in theory, can turn really bad when you put in practice,” Adrian “Era” Kryeziu declared to VPEesports in an interview ahead of the OMEGA League. He also mentioned that finding a “solid” support player has always been difficult in Dota 2 and given the current worldwide coronavirus situation, everything has become even more complicated. “People tend to be very stubborn. They believe in their teams for the right reasons and most of the proven players are already on a team. Snatching a player right now is very difficult,” he added.

While the search for a support 5 is not over for NiP, the team will kick off their OMEGA League campaign with Team Spirit’s captain Mihail “Misha” Agatov standing in. His temporary addition means that Era doesn’t need to make a role swap for this event and Misha might also bring a helping hand in building the drafts and overall game plan.

Ninjas in Pyjamas roster for OMEGA League

  • Charlie “CharlieDota” Arat
  • Ondřej “Supream^” Štarha
  • Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek
  • Adrian “Era” Kryeziu
  • Mihail “Misha” Agatov (stand-in)

Since the competitive scene transitioned to online only competitions, Misha got to compete with his Team Spirit in a couple of tournaments, with the best result being a top four finish at Epic Prime League Season 1, back in May 2020.

His first series with NiP at OMEGA League will be held tomorrow, Saturday, August 15, at 14:00 CEST against Vikin.gg
