Fortnite: Team Atlantis Disbands And Releases All Contracted Players
One of Europe’s premier organizations will disband at the end of October.
It’s a sad day in competitive Fortnite as Team Atlantis announced that it would disband, effective November 1, and release all contracted players. The Lithuania-based organization arrived on the Fortnite scene in July 2018, quickly ascending through the ranks. Several top players, including Dmitri “mitr0” Van de Vrie, Blaž “k1nzell” Lešnik and Kevin “LeTsHe” Fedjuschkin spent time with Team Atlantis over the last two years. The latter two even competed at Fortnite’s inaugural World Cup event under the organization’s banner. Unfortunately, the organization’s CEO revealed that Team Atlantis would close its doors for many reasons.

KNOK1’s Sad Announcement
Team Atlantis CEO, Žygimantas “KNOK1” Kriščiūnas reluctantly took to Twitter with the sad news of his organization’s disbandment.
“Due to various reasons such as COVID-19, investments, inflated market of Fortnite, we have decided to close down the business,” spoke Team Atlantis’ CEO. “Which would mean that every player, content creator and everyone in management will be released from their contracts at the end of October.”
KNOK1 expressed his appreciation for all of Team Atlantis’ supporters throughout the last three years. He also mentioned that Atlantis Scrims would remain open in the European region. Finally, the organization plans to release a farewell video on its YouTube channel soon. Some of the players currently competing under the ATL banner include LeTsHe, Max “Magin” Merrien, Niclas “Kejser” Guldbæk, Markus “MarkusC” Bugge and Nico “Harmii” Harms. All players will become free agents at the end of the month.

LeTsHe, one of Team Atlantis’ top players, joined the organization in April of 2019. He took to Twitter after hearing the news, stating, “Love you guys :(”. LeTsHe is one of the top European controller players in competitive Fortnite, competing in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) with benjyfishy and MrSavage. He became a significant part of Team Atlantis’ brand after the organization granted former player mitr0’s release.
Another current standout player – Nikolaj “Flikk” Andreas Frøslev – also responded to this heartbreaking news on Twitter, writing, “my first real org, goodluck in the future guys.” KNOK1 left the door open for a possible Team Atlantis revival in the future. But unfortunately, it’s not in the cards right now. We wish the best of luck to all of Team Atlantis members on screen and behind the scenes through this challenging time. Hopefully, the brand will return sometime down the line.
