FAW-Audi Sponsors TOP Esports for League of Legends World Championship
Chinese esports organization TOP Esports (TES) announced Sunday that its League of Legends team signed a sponsorship deal with automobile brand FAW-Audi. The sponsorship was revealed via a commercial that featured an Audi A4 and six TES League of Legends players, including Yu “Jackeylove” Wenbo and Zhuo “knight” Ding.
FAW-Audi is a subsidiary brand of FAW-Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd, a large-scale joint venture between China FAW Group Corporation, German Volkswagen AG, Audi AG, and Volkswagen (China) Investment Co., Ltd
Financial terms were not disclosed.
In addition, Audi’s classic “four rings” logo has been exclusively featured on the right chest of TES’ team jersey. TES will compete in the upcoming League of Legends World Championship (Worlds 2020), one of the biggest esports competitions in Shanghai, acting as the first seed of League of Legends Pro League (LPL).
TES is considered one of the biggest contenders to take the crown of the Worlds 2020. The team won this year’s LPL Summer Split and the second place at Spring Split.
Four LPL teams currently have automotive sponsorships: Invictus Gaming (IG), FunPlus Phoenix (FPX), Royal Never Give-Up (RNG) are sponsored by Chevrolet, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz, respectively.
