EHOME go from unbeaten to eliminated at OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China
OGA Dota PIT Season 2: China would see its first
eliminations today since the group stages as it moved into lower bracket series
and two teams would exit the event today.
Yesterday we saw the two teams that were originally unbeaten
in the group stages both fall into the lower bracket of the event, where they
would have to survive if they wanted to move forward at OGA Dota PIT Season 2:
China. For Invictus Gaming, they would need to take down Team Aster and from
the way the first game of the series went, this seemed unlikely. Only claiming
a total of three kills over a half an hour game, iG fell behind in the series
but that’s when iG found their footing.
Over the next two games, iG showed their dominance once
again and, even though Aster were not completely outclassed, they could not find
a way to earn a second victory. For Aster, the loss would see them being
eliminated from the event, while iG would move forward to the next round of the
lower bracket where their opponent would be decided in the next series.
EHOME had been unstoppable in the group stages, losing only
a single game as they tore through Vici Gaming, CDEC Gaming and PSG.LGD before
dropping into the lower bracket yesterday at the hands of VG. Today they would
have to fight Royal Never Give Up, who have seemed extremely strong in recent
times. Game one was a back-and-forth brawl, where both teams found ways to turn
things around continuously, but RNG were nearly always able to keep themselves
in a solid net worth lead. As the game progressed, it become harder and harder
for EHOME to fight, until eventually their Ancient fell.
Once RNG had won that, there was no stopping them as they
stopped over EHOME in the next game with Du ‘Monet’ Peng’s Anti-Mage going 12-1-7
after not being countered at all in the early game period. With that, after not
winning a single playoff game, EHOME would be eliminated from OGA Dota PIT
Season 2: China, while RNG will have to face off against iG tomorrow.
Tomorrow will also see the upper bracket finals with Vici
Gaming taking on CDEC Gaming and the winner moving on to be the first grand
finalist at the event.
