Beasley Esports Names Adam Hobbs Executive Director of Marketing & Branding for Houston Outlaws

Houston Outlaws parent Beasley Media Group has appointed Adam Hobbs as the Overwatch League team’s new executive director of marketing & branding. Hobbs will begin the new position immediately.

Having previously served as head of marketing for Madison Square Garden Company’s Counter Logic Gaming, Hobbs has experience developing a brand strategy surrounding gaming influencers along with executing merchandise and partnership sales initiatives.

Hobbs is the latest addition to the Houston Outlaws leadership team as the organization gears up for the 2021 OWL season. Last month the organization tapped former Outlaws player Matt Iorio as its new general manager, and Robyn St. Germain was named Beasley Esports’ executive director of sales & global partnerships.

Beasley Media Group acquired the Houston Outlaws from Immortals Gaming Club in November 2019, ahead of what should have been the OWL’s first full season with a home venue competition schedule. Those plans were derailed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the league was forced to separate its teams by region to finish the season online. Under new commissioner Johanna Faries, the league will look to re-establish its global geolocation strategy in 2021.

Note: Beasley Esports Chief Operating Office Lori Burgess will take part in the panel, “What Has COVID-19 Done to the Franchise Model?” at Esports Rising on Nov. 19.
