B Site’s Flashpoint Series Returning For Third Iteration With CS:GO – The Esports Observer

Global tournament series Flashpoint is back and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will be the game of choice. B Site Inc., the company behind the Flashpoint brand, along with FACEIT will facilitate this series as an official Regional Major Ranking event for the European region as it relates to qualifying for the next CS:GO major. 

The main event will get underway on May 10, with 16 teams competing in a double-elimination bracket over the course of three weeks. Direct invitations will be extended to 11 teams based on their RMR points with the other five will battle through a qualification

The teams receiving direct invites are Astralis, Vitality, Heroic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, BIG, Fnatic, G2, OG, FunPlus Phoenix, FaZe, and the former North roster.

Open qualifiers begin on April 13, and closed qualifiers begin on April 27.

As the world continues to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, Flashpoint 3 will play matches online, with the broadcast team and talent working from Los Angeles in the FACEIT studios. FACEIT has been tasked with handling all league operations, rules, logistics, and issues of competitive integrity.
