AoE II streamer MbL banned for a week on Twitch for using a homophobic slur; apologizes on YouTube video
The world of Twitch has seen an increased number of bans in recent months and the latest name to get added to the list is that of Norwegian Age of Empires II player and streamer MbL. While streaming, MbL used the f-word, which is a homophobic slur, and will serve a ban of one week.
According to the Twitch community guidelines any sort of speech that “promotes, encourages, or facilitates discrimination, objectification, harassment, or violence based on gender, gender identity and sexual orientation” is forbidden. The streamer ban Twitter handle put up a tweet about MbL’s ban on Twitter today.

To his credit, MbL did make a YouTube video owning up to his mistake and apologizing for his actions, in which he mentioned it was something that happened in a moment of frustration and that he never meant to offend anyone.
To err is human. Everyone makes mistakes, and we all learn from them. Seeing MbL’s video, it seems he definitely has and won’t end up repeating it. He will be back on Twitch in a week.
