Alliance are stomped out of Beyond Epic: EU & CIS by Vikin.gg
Beyond Epic: Europe & CIS begun its playoff stage today
and with the lower bracket kicking things off, we would see elimination series –
the first being between Vikin.gg and Alliance.
Having barely scraped through the group stage of the event,
Alliance were not going to have an easy time in the playoff stage, especially
going up against a team that had beaten OG a few days ago. Vikin.gg had also
put up some amazing performances against both Nigma and Secret, and although
losing those series, were still one of the best teams coming out of Group A, while
Alliance had lost to the likes of Team Empire in their opening series at Beyond
Epic.
For the first game of the series, we would see an Anti-Mage
come through the draft from Alliance, which had the possibility of turning
around any game scenario as it got later into the game. However, a Luna from
Vikin.gg was all that was needed to squash the threat, leaving Alliance a game
away from elimination. Although they played fairly well in game one, the second
game was a complete disaster for Alliance as they only managed a total of five
kills over the 30-minute span, as Vikin.gg stomped them out of Beyond Epic: EU &
CIS.
With the win, Vikin.gg move forward in the lower bracket
where they will face either Team Secret of Team Liquid – a series that will
only be decided tomorrow in the upper bracket. The action is not yet over today
at Beyond Epic, with OG and Virtus.pro fighting next in the second lower
bracket elimination series.
