Aghanim’s Trials begin today on the second lowest difficulty, Magician

The Dota 2 summer event, Aghanim’s Labyrinth global leaderboard, the Aghanim’s Trials open today, July 21 for all those who have defeated the mighty Aghanim wizard on the first difficulty level.

The announcement was made by the Dota 2 developer, who faced a big community backlash wave over the past week for their decision to increase the event’s difficulty with two consecutive patches. The community reactions lead to Valve immediately tweaking down several rooms in the Labyrinth, as well as lowering down the difficulty of the entire Apprentice and Magician levels.

Additionally, the Aghanim’s Trials initially believed to be available only for those who would have completed all four Labyrinth levels (Apprentice, Magician, Sorcerer and Magnus), will be released today for everyone who completed only the first difficulty level and will grant an extra Interdimensional Baby Roshan courier to the first team that will defeat the first boss in the maze.

Aghanim’s Trials rewards:

  • Tier 1: Aghanim’s Interdimensional Baby Roshan
  • Tier 2: Waterlogged Kunkka Shoes
  • Tier 3: Random Arcana
  • Tier 4: A weekly in-game Aghanim’s effect for defeating the first boss

Aghanim’s Trials begin at 12:00 CEST/03:00PDT/18:00 PST, when players will be able to choose a two-hour time window to queue and test their strength through the labyrinth. The two-hour window will be available just once each week. Competition windows will be spaced out in five hours intervals, much like the TI10 Battle Pass Gauntlet challenge. More details on how the Trials work can be found on the event official FAQ page, HERE.
